In today's episode of WaveCast, host Eugenie Jacobsen sails to the Galapagos Islands to talk with PhD student Ana-Belén Yánez Suárez on her research with deep sea coral. 

Ana-Belén Yánez Suárez is a deep-sea ecologist and third-year PhD student in Fisheries Science at the Marine Institute. She led the biological collection on Dr. Katleen Robert's research cruise in the Galapagos Islands and led the cruise to La Isla del Coco in Costa Rica supported by the Schmidt Ocean Institute and National Geographic. In this episode, Ana-Belén shares her path to studying deep-sea coral at the Marine Institute, and delves into her current research in the Galapagos.
